What's in a Face?

Throughout history, portraiture has been a significant method to identify/glorify/remember important people in society, as well as, those individuals on an average level. Within this unit, high school students will discover why portraiture became a popular art form and how this genre of art evolved throughout history.

Students will explore multiple mediums as they create a variety of portraits and self-portraits within this Unit Plan.
